How it works

01

List your tasks

Describe your tasks, responsibilities, or to-do items in plain language. Include context like deadlines, delegability, or long-term impact if you have it.

02

AI fills the matrix

MyMap evaluates each task on urgency and importance, then places it in the correct quadrant of the 2x2 Eisenhower Matrix.

03

Review and act

Move items between quadrants, add new tasks, or ask AI to explain why something was placed where it was. Export to use as a weekly planning reference.

About the framework

What is the Eisenhower Matrix?

The Eisenhower Matrix — also known as the Urgent-Important Matrix — is a time management and prioritization framework attributed to Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th U.S. President and Supreme Allied Commander in World War II. The framework was popularized in Stephen Covey's *The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People* as a tool for distinguishing between what feels urgent and what actually matters.

The matrix is a 2x2 grid organized by two dimensions: urgency (does this need to happen now?) and importance (does this contribute to long-term goals?).

The four quadrants

  • Q1 — Do (Urgent + Important): crises, deadlines, emergencies — handle immediately
  • Q2 — Schedule (Not Urgent + Important): strategic work, planning, development — block time for these
  • Q3 — Delegate (Urgent + Not Important): interruptions, some meetings, routine requests — hand off if possible
  • Q4 — Eliminate (Not Urgent + Not Important): time-wasters, distractions — drop these

The insight Eisenhower and Covey both emphasized: most people spend too much time in Q1 and Q3, and not enough in Q2 — the quadrant where meaningful progress actually happens.

MyMap's AI analyzes your task list and fills the Eisenhower Matrix automatically, so you can see your priorities clearly and act on them without spending time sorting manually.
