Create an Eisenhower priority matrix for managing our team's tasks
About the framework
Four quadrants contain four tasks each. Do Now includes a production outage, a client bug, board-presentation preparation, and an overdue payment. Schedule includes manager check-ins, system documentation, quarterly planning, and performance-review preparation.
Delegate groups calendar setup, status documents, equipment ordering, and routine invoices. Eliminate lists unrelated notifications, low-impact meetings, redundant emails, and busywork. Each quadrant states its urgency and importance combination, so the suggested action has an explicit basis.
These placements reflect one workplace perspective. A task’s importance changes with the person’s role and obligations. Replace the sample items with your own work, identify real deadlines and consequences, and confirm ownership before using the delegation suggestions.

Frequently asked questions
The sample treats it as important work without immediate urgency. Move it if an incident, handoff, or deadline changes that assessment.
No. The quadrant reflects the person using the matrix. Routine invoices or equipment orders may be core work for someone else.
Consider both the deadline and the consequence of not doing it. A near deadline addresses urgency, while importance depends on the outcome you are responsible for.
