Chronology hidden inside prose

A text-to-timeline draft pulls events out of paragraphs and gives their order a visible structure. It is useful when the facts already exist in notes but are hard to follow in a long narrative.

Use it to reconstruct a sequence

Project updates, historical notes, and biographical sketches often contain dates scattered across paragraphs. The startup example shows quarter-labeled milestones; a label such as Q5 needs an explicit year or a definition as the fifth project quarter.

Preserve what the text actually says

1. Keep date precision. A year-only source should not become an exact day.
2. Separate fact from plan. Use labels to distinguish completed events from intended milestones.
3. Resolve relative wording. Tie phrases such as next month to an explicit reference date.
4. Retain meaningful gaps. Do not imply that events happened at equal intervals unless they did.
5. Flag contradictions. Conflicting dates need review rather than silent replacement.
