Create a business model canvas for Airbnb
About the framework
The Airbnb business model canvas puts guests and hosts in the same business model. Read the Customer Segments and Value Propositions sections together: travelers seek places to stay, while property owners seek income. The partner, activity, and resource sections show how the sample connects those needs to listings, payments, search, and trust.
All nine BMC sections are present. Customer Relations includes reviews and host incentives; Channels includes the app, website, content marketing, and referrals. Cost Structure and Revenue Streams sit below the other blocks. The example contains undated fee rates, cost percentages, listing counts, and a hotel price comparison. Treat those as unverified sample entries, not current Airbnb data.
To adapt the canvas, name the two groups your marketplace connects and explain what each needs. Replace sample financial entries with your own assumptions, then check whether the partners and activities support the value promised to both groups.

Frequently asked questions
No. The embedded example includes undated figures and fee assumptions without sources. Use the structure for analysis and supply dated, verified figures before relying on the numbers.
Describe the buyers and sellers, the transaction, and how you expect to earn revenue. Ask the AI to rewrite the nine blocks around those details, marking unknowns as assumptions.
Ask for a second canvas using the same nine headings. Provide the competitor details you want included so you can compare differences in trust, distribution, and revenue without inventing figures.
