About the framework

Trace the API and static-asset paths

The diagram contains 11 component nodes. A Client App connects to CloudFront and API Gateway. CloudFront points to S3 Static Assets, while API Gateway connects to Cognito Auth and three Lambda functions labeled Users, Orders, and Payments.

Users and Orders connect to DynamoDB. Orders also points to SQS Queue, and Payments points to SNS Notifications. These 11 connections show the sample architecture at a service level; they do not specify permissions, deployment configuration, queue consumers, or failure handling.

Use the drawing to discuss responsibility boundaries before adding implementation detail. Name the events placed on SQS, identify notification subscribers, and add the authentication and error paths your application needs. The canvas is an architecture sketch, not a deployed AWS environment.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

Which Lambda functions share the database?

The sample connects Users and Orders to DynamoDB. Payments connects to SNS and has no database connection shown.

Does the queue have a consumer in this example?

No. Orders sends to SQS, but the diagram stops there. Add the worker or downstream service that processes those messages.

Can this diagram deploy the architecture?

The example only describes components and their connections. Deployment configuration, access policies, and operational settings must be defined separately.
