When to use one

What a good family tree looks like
- Names that distinguish each person, adding years or branch labels when relatives share a name.
- Generations arranged consistently, keeping children below their parents throughout the tree.
- Parentage made explicit, including adoptive or step relationships where they are part of the account.
- Partnerships shown separately from descent, so a marriage line cannot be mistaken for a parent-child link.
- Uncertain records labeled as uncertain. Keep an approximate date or unconfirmed connection visibly qualified.
