Create a project plan roadmap for building and launching an e-commerce website
About the framework
The project plan starts with stakeholder interviews on April 1, 2026, then moves through user stories and a technical specification. Four sections organize 13 entries: Requirements, Design, Development, and Testing and Launch. The first two tasks are marked done and the technical specification active in this sample.
Frontend and backend work begin together after prototype review. Payment integration follows the backend, while CMS setup follows the frontend. QA is explicitly linked to payment integration; the example does not make CMS completion a QA prerequisite. Performance testing then leads to the go-live milestone.
Adapt the schedule around your catalog, checkout, and publishing needs. Review both development branches before fixing a launch date, and add content migration or operational handover if they are part of your store build.
