About the framework

Make the launch decision visible

The example follows Idea, Research, and Design before reaching Ready? A Yes leads to Ship it! A No leads to Iterate, which loops back to Design. There are six nodes and one decision point.

This is a compact launch outline rather than a detailed release plan. It has no build phase, launch date, marketing tasks, owners, or readiness criteria. The feedback loop gives a team a place to discuss what must change before another launch review.

To adapt it, define what ready means for your product and add the work that must precede that decision. For example, ask for user testing or a launch checklist between Design and Ready?, with a named outcome for each failed check.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

Where does the iteration loop go?

The No branch reaches Iterate and returns directly to Design. Research is not repeated in the displayed loop.

Does this include development work?

No separate development step appears. Add implementation and testing between design and readiness if you want those activities represented.

How should I adapt Ready? for my team?

Supply the checks your team uses to approve a launch. Ask to replace the broad decision with those checks and show what happens when each fails.
