Create a flowchart for the accounts payable process from invoice receipt to payment approval
About the framework
This accounts payable example contains eight nodes and one decision: Match PO? The main path runs from Receive Invoice through Verify Details, approval, payment scheduling, payment processing, and recording. A failed purchase-order match branches to Return to Vendor.
That exception is a terminal branch in the sample; no corrected-invoice route returns to verification. Approval is a single step without named approvers or thresholds. The diagram also does not show a goods-receipt check, duplicate detection, or handling for invoices without a purchase order.
Use this as a compact process overview. Supply your invoice checks, exception owners, and approval rules when adapting it. Add a return path if corrected invoices re-enter the workflow, and distinguish a purchase-order match from any additional checks your process requires.

Frequently asked questions
No. The decision says Match PO? and no goods-receipt check is drawn. Add that check if it is part of the payable process you want to document.
The sample branch ends at Return to Vendor. Ask for a corrected-invoice return route and specify who verifies the resubmission.
The example has one Approve step after the PO match. Replace that step with your amount-based decision and named approval routes.
