Create a concept map of the nervous system
About the framework
The map begins with two major divisions: Central Nervous System and Peripheral Nervous System. CNS divides into Brain and Spinal Cord, while PNS divides into Somatic and Autonomic. The autonomic branch then splits into Sympathetic and Parasympathetic. Eleven leaf entries provide short structures or functions to recall.
Brain entries name the cerebrum, cerebellum, and brainstem. The spinal cord branch includes reflex arcs and a note about 31 pairs of spinal nerves. That nerve count is placed beside the spinal cord for context; spinal nerves belong to the peripheral system. The autonomic examples contrast fight-or-flight with rest-and-digest responses.
Use this hierarchy to practice locating a structure or function within the system. For a reflex lesson, add a sensory-to-motor pathway and label which parts are central or peripheral. The existing map is a topic outline, not an anatomical drawing.

Frequently asked questions
No. It is a branching outline naming brain regions and nervous-system divisions. Request a separate anatomical view if you need positions and shapes.
The sample places the note there by association. Spinal nerves are part of the PNS, so moving that entry to a peripheral nerve branch makes the classification clearer.
Add a comparison of the sympathetic and parasympathetic effects on the same organs. The current example only includes broad response labels and changes in heart rate.
