PDF File Handling Cheat Sheet
Add a PDF file to a website
Step 1: Upload the PDF File
Upload your PDF file to your web host or a cloud storage service like Google Drive or Dropbox.
Step 2: Get The URL Link
Once uploaded, ensure it's publicly accessible and get the direct URL link to the PDF file.
Step 3: Add a Hyperlink
In your webpage's HTML code, add an HTML hyperlink to the direct URL of your uploaded PDF file.
Step 4: Test
Lastly, test the hyperlink to ensure it correctly opens the PDF file.
Add a PDF file to a Word Document
Step 1: Open Word Document
Start by opening your word document where you want to insert the PDF.
Step 2: Insert Object
Navigate to Insert tab > Text group > Object > From file. Then browse for your PDF and click OK or Insert.
Step 3: Display as icon
If you want the PDF to be displayed as an icon, tick the Display as icon checkbox before clicking OK or Insert.
Step 4: Save and Test
Save your word document and test by double clicking the PDF icon.
Add a PDF file to a PowerPoint Presentation
Step 1: Open PowerPoint Presentation
Start by opening your presentation slide where you want to insert the PDF.
Step 2: Insert Object
Go to Insert tab > Text group > Object > From file. Then browse for your PDF and click OK or Insert.
Step 3: Display as icon
If you want the PDF to be displayed as an icon, tick the Display as icon checkbox before clicking OK or Insert.
Step 4: Save and Test
Save your presentation and test by going into presentation mode and clicking the PDF icon.
