Ananke is a primeval Greek goddess, the personification of necessity. In mythology, she is also known by several other names such as Adrasteia and the Moirai. Adrasteia, meaning inescapable, was given to Ananke because it represents inexorable destiny and refers to the fact that no one can escape his or her destiny.
